Practical guide

What is PDF to PowerPoint?

PDF to PowerPoint turns each PDF page into a PowerPoint slide (PPTX). Editable mode rebuilds pages from separate text boxes, headings, images, basic tables, and simple shapes; Visual mode places every page on its slide as a high-quality image.

PDF files do not always contain the original PowerPoint structure, so editable conversion is a best-effort reconstruction that may require manual cleanup. Slides keep the page aspect ratio, orientation, and object positions, and fonts fall back to safe PowerPoint fonts. Scanned pages can use OCR to become editable text placed over the original scan.

Helpful answers

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about pdf to powerpoint and how this page works.

Will the PowerPoint look exactly like my PDF?

Visual mode keeps each page's appearance as an image. Editable mode rebuilds the page from separate objects, so spacing, fonts, and complex graphics may differ and can require manual cleanup.

What is the difference between Editable and Visual mode?

Editable creates text boxes, images, basic tables, and simple shapes you can change. Visual places every page as a high-quality picture, each page is preserved visually but content may not be individually editable.

Can I convert scanned PDFs to editable slides?

Yes. Enable OCR in Editable mode and pick the document language. Recognized text is placed in editable boxes over the scan; review it for recognition errors.

Which OCR languages are supported?

The language list in the tool shows exactly the OCR languages installed on our servers.

Can I convert password-protected PDFs?

Yes, if you know the password. Enter it to unlock the file for conversion, the password is never stored.

Does it keep tables and multi-column layouts?

Simple ruled or clearly aligned tables become native PowerPoint tables, and multi-column text keeps its reading order. Complex or merged tables may be kept as positioned text instead.

Is my file stored?

Uploads and the generated PPTX stay in private Converto storage behind signed, owner-only downloads and are deleted after processing.

Do I need a premium plan?

Yes. PDF to PowerPoint is a premium tool and uses your existing Con-verto subscription or lifetime access.
